About Matthew
From the classroom to the boardroom — same root system.
Every part of Matthew's work — teaching, coaching, consulting, gardening — grows out of the same belief: real growth is slow, structural, and worth the patience it takes.
Matthew Taylor holds a B.S. in Marine and Environmental Science from Hampton University, is a Certified Financial Education Instructor through the National Financial Educators Council, and is a Certified AI Consultant through the International Association of AI Consultants (CPD-accredited). He also holds a Managing Personal Finances with AI Certificate from Coursiv and serves as an NFEC Affiliated Educator.
For seven years, Matthew taught science and business/finance across Portsmouth City and Newport News Public Schools — marine biology, zoology, environmental science, earth science, and biology, with his final three years focused on STEM. Alongside the classroom, he coached students, ran a mentorship program, and wove financial literacy and business instruction into everything he taught.
